Tartalmi leírás:
This paper is dealing with the issue of Socialist Industrialization in Transylvania during
the decades of Socialist Romania. Based on analytic bibliography and statistics, but also using some
specific case-studies in their details, the focus is primarly on three important cities from Transylvania:
Cluj-Napoca/Kolozsvár, targu Mures/Marosvásárhely and Oradea/Nagyvárad. Beside the role of centrally
planned industrialization in economic life, the paper is dealing with changes intervened, duet o the
interaction of industrialization with urbanization, changes intervened in ethnic and social structures of
the three cities listed above.
