The carsharing service aims to increase the utilization of the
temporal capacity of the cars resulting that fewer cars and
parking spaces are sufficient for the same mobility demands.
The key factor of the introduction and the development of the
service is to explore the features of the quality and to compare
them to the expectations of the users. We have developed
a service quality analysis and assessment method. Our devised
compensated multicriteria method takes into consideration the
properties of the service, area and population. The quality is
varying both in space and time, and also depending on availability
of other transportation modes. We applied the method
in Budapest. A round-trip carsharing service were assessed
from a user aspect. Representation of the calculated results on
a dynamic map allows for the operators to plan and evaluate
the quality of service both before implementation and during
operation. “Average distance to the nearest unoccupied vehicle”,
“service type” and “parking conditions” parameters
have been found as the most important service parameters.
