A kutatás során vizsgáltuk a hazai térszervezés és szerveződés folyamatait, a települési és a térségi szereplők együttműködését, valamint ennek tényezőit, különböző szinteken. Megállapíthattuk, hogy a forrásszerzés és az önkormányzati/települési önállóság elsődleges preferenciája továbbra is fennáll, de egyre inkább előtérbe kerülnek az együttműködésre irányuló törekvések, ösztönzési eszközök, úgy az állam, mint az önkormányzatok oldaláról. A kutatás interdiszciplináris jellege, a társadalomföldrajzi, közigazgatási, közgazdasági megközelítések révén feltárta a közszolgáltatás-szervezés alternatíváinak sokszektorú sajátosságait, a fogyasztók választási lehetőségeinek bővülésével összefüggésben. A települések tipizálásnak egyik fő szempontja a szolgáltatásokhoz hozzáférés volt, ahol a szolgáltatások piacának keresleti és kínálati tényezői motiválják a társulási hajlandóságot is. A hazai településrendszer sajátossága, a kistelepülések aránya, sőt a városokon belül is a kisvárosok számának növekedése nehezíti az önkormányzatok helyzetét a közszolgáltatások szerezése terén, illetve a költségvetési gazdálkodásban. | During the research we examined the process of spatial organization in Hungary, the cooperation between the agents of settlements and regions and also the conditions of cooperation at different levels. We pointed out that the preference for the aquisition of resources and the independence of settlements and self-governments continue to take priority but there are more and more efforts toward cooperation and more and more forms of incentives on the part of the state and self-governments as well. Owing to the interdisciplinary character of the research and our sociogeographic, administrative and economic approach we pointed out the multisectorial nature of the alternatives for organizing public and community services in relation with the growing possibilities of consumers to choose. As one of the main criteria for settlement typification we considered the access to services, when the willingness to cooperate is motivated by factors of supply and demand on the market of services. Characteristics of the Hungarian settlement system, the high proportion of small settlements and also the increasing number of small towns among municipalities make the situation of self-governments difficult in the organization of public service supply.
