Munkánk során különböző kísérleti módszereket és számítási eljárásokat kombinálva az ózon, a szulfition, a ditionátion és az oxihalogén-vegyületek összetett redoxireakcióit tanulmányoztuk vizes közegben. Tisztáztuk ezekben a folyamatokban a reaktív köztitermékek szerepét és részletes kinetikai modelleket dolgoztunk ki a nem egyszer szokatlan jelenségek értelmezésére. Igazoltuk, hogy számos rendszerben a reakciók fotokémiai inicálásának meghatározó szerepe van. Módszert dolgoztunk ki ezeknek a folyamatoknak a kereskedelmi forgalomban beszerezhető diódasoros spektrofotométerekkel történő vizsgálatára. Eredményeink hozzájárulnak az említett vegyületek kémiai sajátságainak eddiginél pontosabb leírásához és a korábbi irodalmi adatokban található ellentmondások feloldásához. Az általunk javasolt reakciómechanizmusok alapul szolgálhatnak gazdaságos és környezetkímélő ipari oxidációs technológiák, fertőtlenítési eljárások, valamint víz- és szennyvízkezelési módszerek kidolgozásához, az említett vegyületek környezeti kémiai szerepének értelmezéséhez. | In this project, composite redox reactions of ozone, sulfite ion, dithionate ion and oxyhalogen compounds were studied in aqueous phase by combining various experimental techniques and evaluation methods. We have clarified the role of reactive intermediates and verified detailed kinetic models for the interpretation of the often unusual phenomena in these systems. We have confirmed that photochemical initiation has a pivotal role in triggering the overall reaction in some of the studied systems. An appropriate experimental method was developed for studying these reactions by commercially available diode-array spectrophotometers. Our results contribute to an in-depth description of the chemical features of these species and resolve some of the contradictions found in earlier literature data. The mechanisms proposed may serve as a basis to develop cost efficient and environment friendly industrial oxidation technologies, disinfection processes and water and waste water treatment methods. They may also prove to be significant in understanding the environmental impact of the above compounds.
