Az Udvari István által kezdeményezett és eredetileg 2003-2006-ra szóló kutatási terv irányítását az ő 2005-ben bekövetkezett halála után vettem át, amikor félállásban a Nyíregyházi Főiskola Ukrán és Ruszin FilológiaiTanszékére kerültem. Az átmenet nehézségeinek az áthidalására 1 év haladékot kértem és kaptam, így a kutatás 5 évre húzódott el (2003-2007). Úgy vélem, e haladékkal több kutatási eredmény készülhetett el a források jobb kihasználásával. Az egész periódus legfontosabb eredménye az Ukrán-magyar szótári adatbázis (1-6. köt., Nyíregyháza, 2000-2003) befejezése, valamint a Magyar-ukrán szótár (1-2. köt., Nyíregyháza, 2005-2006) befejezése; mindkét hiánypótló mű főszerkesztője Udvari István volt. Ezek munkálatai mellett folytatódott a történelmi Magyarország ruszin vonatkozású nyelvi és irodalmi emlékeinek publikálása, a hazai ruthenisztika történetének feldolgozása, a magyar-ruszin, magyar-ukrán nyelvi, irodalmi és művelődési kapcsolatok feldolgozása. | The research plan, initiated by István Udvari and originally planned for 2003-2006, took I over from him after his death in 2005, when I was employed part-time by the Department for Ukrainian and Ruthenian Philology of the College of Nyíregyháza. I requested and I was granted 1 year respite for surmounting the difficulties of the transition, therefore the research lasted 5 years (2003-2007). I think that this respite made it possible to have more results of research with better profiting of the resources. The most important result of the whole period is the completing of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Dictionary Database (Vol. 1-6, Nyíregyháza, 2000-2003) and the completing of the Hungarian-Ukrainian Dictionary (Vol. 1-2, Nyíregyháza, 2005-2006). The editor-in-chief of both long-needed works was István Udvari. In addition to these works we continued the publication of the Ruthenian linguistic and literature memorials of historical Hungary, the working up of the history of Ruthenian studies in Hungary and of the Hungarian-Ruthenian, Hungarian-Ukrainian linguistic, literary and cultural connections.
