A kutatás témájának feldolgozása a címből kitűnően kétirányú megközelítést igényelt. A nemzetközi és a hazai büntetőjogi szempontok figyelembe vétele általános kutatási módszer is lehetne, ebben az esetben azonban ezt a szemléletet jelentős történelmi tények befolyásolták. Olyan tények, amelyek alapvetően kihatottak a jogi gondolkodás változására. A nemzetközi szemlélet átlagot meghaladó jelentőségét megszabta, hogy a kutatási időszakra esett belépésünk az Európai Unióba. Emiatt az európai jogszemléletet többoldalú megközelítéssel vizsgáltuk, s ezzel lehet magyarázni, hogy látszólag a témához szorosan nem tartozó kérdések is feldolgozásra kerültek. Ezek a szélesebb körű vizsgálódások azt szolgálták, hogy a kutatásban részt vevők egyidejűleg tanulják az EURÓPAI UNIÓ kialakuló jogrendszerét, megismerjék azokat a vitákat, amelyek ennek a jogrendszernek a fejlődése során óhatatlanul felmerülnek. A hazai büntetőjogi aspektust pedig alapvetően befolyásolta és befolyásolja, hogy erre az időszakra esik a Btk. kodifikációja. Ez a kodifikáció számos területen új büntetőjogi gondolkodást igényel. A kutatás során 2 monográfia és 2 idegen nyelvű konferencia anyagát tartalmazó kötet készült el. A kutatásban résztvevők 16 magyar nyelvű és 7 idegen nyelvű tanulmányt publikáltak. Ezen kívül az idegen nyelvű konferenciák anyagát tartalmazó kötetben 12 olyan tanulmányt is publikáltunk, amelyeknek a szerzői nem voltak a kutatás résztvevői. | It follows from the title of the research project that the examination of the research topic involves a twofold approach. The examination of the research topic from the point of view of international and national law could be regarded as a general research method. In this case, however, this method was of particular importance due to the historic event of Hungary's membership of the European Union. The high importance attached to the examination of the international aspects of the topic is due to the fact that Hungary joined the European Union which had significant impact on Hungarian legal thinking. This explains that several aspects which do not belong to the core of the research topic were also studied in the framework of the research project thereby allowing the participants of the research team to learn about the new European Union legal regime and to get introduced to the legal discourse framing it. Besides the international aspects of the topic the studying of the national legal framework was equally important. This is due to the fact that the codification of a new Hungarian Criminal Code is underway and this involves a new approach in criminal law thinking. There have been several publications prepared during the project: 2 pornographies and 2 volumes comprising the materials of international conferences, 16 articles in Hungarian and 7 articles in a foreign language.
